The Harborne Academy is an integral part of the South West Area Network of schools. This group of over 20 secondary schools provides us with a wide variety of professional development opportunities and an invaluable support mechanism for curriculum development. This enhances the learning experiences of our students, gives them access to a wider range of courses and offers a diversity of pathways for post 14 and 16 studies across the network.

The University Hospital Birmingham is the lead business from the health sector and continues to support the national award- winning Health Tec Centre and many aspects of the health and science curriculum across the Academy. This enables the Academy to lead locally, regionally and nationally in health and science through exciting and ‘real’ learning experiences. Students benefit from the Academy’s well established links with local hospitals, offering opportunities for young people to learn and immerse themselves in a working hospital environment.
