If you have any questions or concerns about your child, please don’t hesitate to contact a member of the Business team by leaving a message with Reception or by emailing our enquiry address.

We aim to respond to phone calls and emails as quickly as possible, and certainly within 48 hours. Please bear in mind that members of staff may have a day of teaching and may not be able to respond to non-urgent matters until the end of the Academy day or the following Academy day.

Key Stage 3 Physical Education

As part of our ethos for a healthy active life style, Harborne Academy students will be expected to participate in 2 hours of PE each week. As a department we feel that this helps promote a life-long love of sport, health and well-being which students can take with them on their journey through school and beyond.

All students in Years 7, 8 and 9 will participate in the following activities:

Key Stage 4 Physical Education

During Years 10 and 11, students will follow a core PE course which will help develop previously learnt skills in KS3 and apply them to more game based situations.

PE and Sport as a vocational exam

More able PE students will be given the opportunity to participate in a vocational course, OCR Sports Studies. Students who have been selected from core PE will start this course in Year 9 and work through until Year 11 where they will gain a nationally recognised qualification in PE and Sport.
