KS3 PE

As part of our ethos for a healthy active life style, Harborne Academy students will be expected to participate in 2 hours of Physical Education each week. As a department we feel that this helps promote a life-long love of sport, health and well-being which students can take with them on their journey through school and beyond.

All students in year 7, 8 and 9 will participate in the following activities:

•       Athletics

•       Badminton

•       Basketball

•       Cricket

•       Gymnastics

•       Handball

•       Hockey

•       Hockey

•       Rounder’s

•       Rugby

•       Tennis

•       Trampoline

KS4 PE

During years 10 and 11, students will follow a core PE course which will help develop previously learnt skills in KS3 and apply them to more game based situations

PE and Sport as a vocational exam

More able PE students will be given the opportunity to participate in a vocational course, OCR Sports Studies. Students who have been selected form core PE will start this course in year 9 and work through until year 11 where they will gain a nationally recognise qualification in PE and Sport.
